my latest 'pouring'

Don't know if anything will come of this or not!

some earlier paintings---watercolors

Here are two of my watercolors using my "squiggle" technique.  I think it adds depth and richness of color.  What do you think?

some earlier paintings---oils

I've enjoyed working with oils and have had some success? using old barns in the area as "subjects".  It's been a toss-up as to what I enjoy better-----oils or watercolor.  I seem to have a lot more time for painting in the winter and find when we have a lot of visitors (in the summer) it's easier to work with watercolors.  Again I'd appreciate any comments.

Would like to post my new "pouring:" but am having difficulty locating the photo.  Have beach work to do this morning but hope to get at it this afternoon.  Didn't get at any art work last weekend!.

I resized it and am happy with the results.------would appreciate any and all comments.

same watercolor

I'm still working on that watercolor of the shed and boat.  Will finish this afternoon?-----and post the finished painting.  I have paper soaking to use for my next painting.  Am going to try some new techniques for the initial washes.

watercolors

I haven't had much time to work yet today.  The painting with the shed and rowboat still needs some work.  Hope to add some squiggles that will add depth later this afternoon.  Need to add some "pop"  (I really don't like that expression)!

Getting started:

I started painting using acrylics, moved to oils, and presently am working with watercolors.  I am hesitant to "take classes" as I want to experiment and develop my own style.  I start with washes and then "squiggle"-----adding layers of color.  The result, I feel, is almost a pointillest style.  Most of my paintings have been landscapes in my area but in one I experimented with pouring paint and embellishing the result.  I would appreciate comments if I can figure out how to download them to my blog.  Is that possible?  Here goes----------
